Vision for Dublin
Parks and Open Space:
- Building state of the art facilities in our regional and neighborhood parks and squares
- Maintaining and revitalizing existing parks
- Continue commitment to preserving open space, protecting ridgelines in the east (similar to restrictions in the west) and providing high quality trails
- Continue to look for opportunities to build more parks in the west
- Continue commitment to provide a variety of recreational opportunities for residents of all ages and cultures
- Work to find opportunities for community gardens
Revitalizing Downtown:
- Continue to work with developers and business community to provide new and unique retail experiences in Downtown Dublin
- Work to provide incentives for businesses to locate in Downtown Dublin to provide a more vibrant and sustainable revenue source
- Work with our Economic Development Director to bring more commercial business to Downtown
- Work to bring a weekly Farmers Market to the Dublin Sports Grounds or surrounding neighborhood
Managed Growth:
- Balance the city's housing stock by lowering the densities for new residential developments in order to provide more single family housing opportunities
- Require back and side yard setbacks that provide more outdoor usable space
- Continue to work to balance our residential, commercial and retail to create a vibrant, economically stable community
- Maintain sustainable revenue sources in order to continue budget surpluses, investments in public safety, infrastructure and recreational facilities
Keeping Dublin Green:
- Work to find ways to enhance energy efficiency within our city facilities
- Work to require all new development, residential and commercial to meet LEED Green Building Standards
- Work to implement green initiatives to reduce the city's carbon footprint
- Continue to work on clean air initiatives
- Create partnerships with the School District to increase recycling, reduce food waste and work to find ways to reduce their carbon footprint ad the revitalize buildings and build new ones
